Pick 3 Double Draw is back

Pick 3 players have more chances to win in September! Starting tonight, you’re going to see a lot more action during the evening drawings.

There will be two Pick 3 draw machines and a Double Draw machine that has six white balls and one red. At the start of the drawing, we’ll pick a ball from the Double Draw machine. If the Red Ball is drawn, a second Pick 3 drawing will take place immediately following the first.

And, the best part? Winners will get paid on both sets of numbers.

If a white ball is drawn, there will only be one Pick 3 drawing. We’ll then remove one white ball from the Double Draw machine for the following night’s drawing. This means the first Double Draw drawing will have six white balls, the second on the next night will have five, the third will have four, etc., until the Red Ball is drawn. Once the Red Ball is drawn, the process starts over with all six white balls and a Red Ball included for next evening’s drawing.

There will be at least one extra drawing a week and possibly more.

What I meant was this. 333 is the initial draw. The red ball is drawn and 333 comes up as the second drawing. Is there not another redraw since I can't cash my winning 333 ticket but once.NC Lottery
Thanks for clarifying, Tracy! If the red ball was drawn and 3-3-3 was then drawn for both the first and second drawing, players would win on both sets of numbers. In this situation, if you had a $1 Exact ticket for 3-3-3, both $500 prizes would be paid out in a $1,000 payment from the single ticket. Hope this helps explain things a bit more.

Hi Ozella, The white ball was drawn on Sept. 1, so there was no Double Draw. Keep an eye out tonight, only four white balls are left!

Food 4 thought. Merchant A takes debit cards n gets charged 3%, and sells $10k worth of tickets a week. Gets 7% from ncel. Merchant B does not take cards n only sells $1k worth of tickets. No matter how you do the math, merchants that don't take cards are losing $ to ones that do.

What if 333 is drawn on first drawing, then returns on red ball drawing? NC Lottery
Hi Tracy, I'm not sure I understand your question. Whichever balls are drawn is completely random -- so yes, it is entirely possible for the same sequence of numbers to get drawn in two consecutive drawings. Once the red ball is drawn, it is put back into the chamber the following draw. Hope that helps.

I live in Virginia and travel to North Carolina just to play the lottery a few times every month. I can say that I like the North Carolina lottery much, much better than the Virginia lottery. At least double draw gives you another opportunity to win. You know there will be many more winners because of it. I really like the Carolina Cash 5 because the jackpot continues to grow until someone wins it. I’m a big fan of the North Carolina lottery and will continue to play. NC Lottery

Hi Sharon, typically you cannot. But if a new ticket launch falls around a holiday sometimes our sales team needs to deliver a tad early. For example, we had to deliver the new Win It All tickets slightly early due to the Labor Day holiday falling on a Monday.
