Martin County man wins ‘Mega’ $200,000 lottery prize

Charles James of Jamesville is starting his week off with a ‘Mega’ win after he played the Mega Bucks scratch-off game and won $200,000.

He bought the winning ticket at the Speedway on Washington Street in Williamston.

James claimed his prize Monday morning at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $141,501.

The $5 ticket launched in November 2017. Five top prizes of $200,000 remain.

Where can we buy Jr.Big'ol Bucks Tickets...Love the game & many prizes still left ! 2 stores in 27051 zip code (Walkertown)did have them,now none !!! What's up ? NC Lottery
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding the Jr. Big Ol' Bucks game! We leave it up to each retailer to decide which games they want to carry, and most opt to stock the newer games. The ticket is still available for retailers, so some should still be stocking it.

Morning LZ. I think Berry is only looking at the "highlights". if you click on the individual games , you will see they are updated. The highlights page focuses only on winners that had their picture taken. But since players make rude comments about winners on here almost everyday, seems like more and more winners are not getting their pic taken..... I can't blame them. I wouldn't either...

Congratulations Mr.JAMES, "Enjoy" ????????. However,just another example of a big east coast win. How surprising. Always close to headquarters. There's just no coincidence in this scenario.

Not to be the eternal pessimist but ANY of these games has always yielded next to nothing as far as wins. Doesn't matter if it's Junior, Mega, or Jumbo, they're as bad for luck as the LOADED and WIN-IT-ALL games. IF I went right now and bought any of them, I have confidence it would be a complete wipeout! And you know how a LOT of scratch-offs make it look like all your numbers or nearly all are just one-off from winning? Well, with these games, most of the time I'm not even close! I know someone who actually had some luck with these games but me, not so much. But I can play something else and at least win something.
