Sometimes with popular numbers, the “liability limit” is reached, meaning enough players have selected a number that the lottery must stop sales of that number for that draw. The reason for this is to ensure that the lottery could pay out the prize money should those numbers hit!

Hi Schmeka, We don't know or control when a specific number will be drawn. Our drawings are independent events, meaning the results of previous drawings have no bearing on the results of future drawings. That combination could have been drawn yesterday, last year, or never, and the odds of it being drawn again today would still be 1 in 1,000 in each drawing.

Hi Schmeka, If you have a ticket with a specific number on it and that number is drawn, you will be paid. Some numbers reach what is called the "liability limit" where we halt sales for that specific number for that drawing, but any existing tickets with that number do still get paid should it be drawn. The liability limit for Pick 3 is $5 million - not in sales, but in potential prize payout should a given number be drawn.
