Jackpots pile up in new Fast Play games

In just the first three weeks, North Carolinians trying out the new Fast Play games have won five jackpots, ranging from $14,200 to $357,731.

The latest jackpot wins came on Sunday when two lucky tickets hit a Fast Play jackpot.

First, a $5 Rockin’ Bingo ticket purchased at the Sunny Point C Store on George II Highway in Southport won a $25,857 jackpot. Since it was a $5 ticket, it claimed half of the jackpot at that time.

Later Sunday, a $5 Rockin’ Bingo ticket purchased at the Food Lion in Washington Square Mall in Washington, N.C. won $14,200, half of that jackpot at that time.

Here are the other three jackpot wins so far:

• $231,975 jackpot won Saturday on a $10 Jackpot 7’s ticket bought at the Swift Creek Mini Mart on Rand Road in Garner.
• $357,751 jackpot won Friday, Sept. 25, on a $10 Jackpot 7’s ticket bought at CJ’S Food Store on Gum Branch Road in Jacksonville.
• $72,796 jackpot won Wednesday, Sept. 23, on a $2 Lucky Clover ticket bought at the Harris Teeter on South Church Street in Burlington. Since it was a $2 ticket, it won 20 percent of the jackpot at that time.

The rolling, progressive jackpot is an exciting part of the new Fast Play games because it increases with every ticket sold until it is won. The odds of winning the Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 240,000.

The first five wins provide examples of how you can win some or all of the jackpot. Printed on your ticket is the amount of the jackpot when you bought your ticket and how much of that jackpot you could win.

Here’s how the Fast Play jackpot works:

• A $2 Fast Play ticket wins 20 percent of the jackpot.
• A $5 Fast Play ticket wins half of the jackpot.
• A $10 Fast Play ticket wins all of the jackpot.

When only part of a jackpot is won, the jackpot amount falls by the percentage of the win and begins growing again. For example, if the jackpot was $60,000 and a $5 ticket won the jackpot, it would restart at $30,000. If the full jackpot is won or a win takes it below $20,000, then it starts over at $20,000 as it did on Sunday.
