Twenty scratch-off games ending soon

Twenty scratch-off games end Friday, Feb. 28, so if you have won a prize on one of those games you have 90 days afterward to claim it.

The games that are ending are:

$20 tickets: Big Money Playbook and $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler
$10 ticket: HIT $5,000, Lucky No. 7, and $50 or $100! (Game #650)
$5 ticket: $500 Loaded, All About The Bens, and $150,000 Cashword
$3 ticket: Twisted and Holiday Gifts
$2 ticket: Quick Cash, Lady Luck Doubler, $50,000 WIN IT ALL, and Holiday Cheer
$1 tickets: Lucky 7’s, 5X The Cash, $50 Loaded, Payout, $10,000 WIN IT ALL, and White Elephant

All prizes must be claimed on or before Thursday, May 28. Claims of $600 up to $99,999 must be made at one of the six regional claim centers before 5 p.m. that day while claims of $100,000 and above must be made at lottery headquarters in Raleigh before 5 p.m. on that day as well.

Mail-in claims must be received within 90 days of the official end-of-game date. Remember, postmarks will not satisfy the 90-day requirement.

Check your tickets carefully and make sure you're not overlooking some prizes.

Hi Sheila, On Tuesday the following new scratch-offs will go on sale: $50 in a Flash ($1), Lot's of $100's ($2), Extra Play Cashword ($5), Emerald Green 8's ($5), and Extreme Cash ($25). So no new $30 scratch-offs this months, but a new $25 game. Good luck to you!

I notice the $10.00 Hit 5,000 which has been an active game for almost 2 years has 2 top prizes is ending soon. Do you have an estimate of how many total tickets have been sold for this game in those 2 years and how many total were printed?NC Lottery
Hey there! The blog team doesn't have sales numbers on-hand, but we encourage you to email player.info@lotterync.net with your question and someone will work to gather that info for you. That said, we wanted to take a moment to share a tip on how to find out how many tickets were printed for a game in total. All you have to do is multiply the odds of winning the top prize by the amount of top prizes in the game. For example, the HIT $5,000 had 5 top prizes and the odds of winning a top prize is 1,680,000. If you multiply those numbers, you'll find out that there were 8.4 million tickets printed for this game. Hope this helps!

You're right! There will be 25 winners. We are going through the alternate process with that final winner and will update the website as soon as we have a name to publish.

That's a great suggestion, Kevin! Right now we don't have the capabilities in place to have transactions like that on our website, but we will certainly pass your idea along to the folks involved with making those decisions.

@nclottery @sharrett. Sharrett is asking why get rid of cards with remaining prizes but continue to sell the ones with the top or top 2 prizes gone..... regardless of sales and popularity. NC Lottery
We don't keep a game on-sale if all of the top prizes have been won. In a perfect world, we would release a new game and players would enjoy playing it and all of the prizes would be won before we end the game. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Sometimes games are no longer popular with our players or retailers simply aren't ordering them anymore, so it makes more sense to end it and replace it with one that has more prizes available to be won.

NCEL ..This totally contradicts what you wrote..explained below .NC LOTTERY Hi Troy, As soon as the last top prize for a game has been won, our team begins taking steps to end a game. This means that our representatives begin picking the game up from all retailers across the state. This process can take up to 6 weeks, so you might see some games available that you know no longer have prizes left. Retailers continue to sell tickets until a lottery representative comes to pick them up. That's why we update the "Prizes Remaining" for each game daily, so that folks can check to see if a game still has prizes they're interested in. Which game are you referring to that is still active but does not have top prizes remaining

Why did they pull all the HIT $5000 tickets in the Apex/Cary area when there are $15,815,400 worth of prizes left. But, they are still selling tickets with o first and second prizes left?NC Lottery
Thanks for your question. The top prizes remaining aren't the only thing that dictates whether or not a game is ended. The game's popularity and sales have an effect, as well. If a game isn't performing well in stores, it sometimes makes sense to end it and replace it with something new that contains more prizes for players. Thanks for playing!

Hi Berry, We'll help you find it! All you have to do is visit the 2nd Chance Draws page here: https://nclottery.com/RewardsDraws. Then, click on the drawing you are interested in and then choose the draw date from the ones listed. Once you click on that date, there should be a blue "Winners" link. You can click that and the winners for that drawing will be listed. Good luck!
