Our Heroes Map on www.ncschoolheroes.com shows thousands of stories about people doing heroic work in our public schools all across the state.
As of Friday morning, more than 3,100 nominations have been posted.
Nominations have come from 99 of North Carolina’s 100 counties with some counties sharing more than 100 hero stories. We’re hoping to see a hero story from Polk County soon. Come on, Polk County, we’re rooting for you. We have no doubt that Polk County schools are full of heroes.
As we end the third week of our NC School Heroes program, you still have time to nominate a hero you know. Nominations are open till March 15.
Meanwhile, there’s a whole lot of voting going on. You can vote once every day for your hero. As of Friday morning, more than 1,100,000 votes have already been cast. Some NC School Heroes have received more than 20,000 votes already.
It takes a village to make sure a child gets a good education. From the teachers in the classroom, to cafeteria workers, to school bus drivers and custodians, countless men and women in North Carolina dedicate their heart and soul to helping our students succeed.
Many of these people often go unrecognized. That’s why we want to celebrate these heroes. Their stories are truly inspiring.
After voting ends on March 15, we’ll choose ten heroes from the 200 nominations that get the most votes. Those 10 School Heroes each will get $10,000. The schools the winning heroes work for will also receive $10,000. Plus, we’re giving the person who took the time to nominate a winning hero $1,000.
So please nominate and vote for a NC School Hero! Help us celebrate the men and women who make a difference in the lives of students every single day.
