WHY do you end a game when all the top prizes are claimed? I get your point about there's no more 200K prizes, but aren't there other many prizes available? I don't just mean the $5 variety. I mean anywhere from $50 to 50K. Also, there's more of these prizes than the four top prizes offered here. I know you don't instantly pull the game but it seems a shame to let any number of $1,000 prizes go. You at least ought to have to offer a 2nd chance drawing for unclaimed prizes? NC Lottery
Hi, Tim. In a perfect world, a game would sell out at the exact rate for the final top prize to be claimed at the same time we sold the last batch of tickets for the game. Since we can't know or control when someone finds a top prize, that simply doesn't happen and games end before every prize has been won. It's lottery policy to end a game once the advertised top prize is gone. Otherwise there would be players choosing to play a game based on the top prize printed on the ticket, never knowing that it was no longer in the game.
