Check out big jackpots up for grabs this weekend

This weekend, both Mega Millions and Powerball offer North Carolinians the chance to win huge jackpots that together put $461 million up for grabs.

The largest of the two jackpots could be won Friday night as the Mega Millions drawing offers a $336 million jackpot as an annuity or $265.6 million cash.

Then, on Saturday night, the Powerball jackpot stands at $125 million as an annuity or $100.4 million cash.

“We’ve seen North Carolinians having some good luck recently in both games, winning prizes of $1 million to $2 million,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the lottery. “Those are great prizes, but we would love to see someone bring home one of these jackpots this weekend.”

Both games offer nine ways to win a prize. On April 21, a Charlotte man won a $2 million prize in the Mega Millions drawing. On April 8, a Rowan County man won a $1 million prize in the Powerball drawing and four days earlier, in the April 4 Powerball drawing, a Durham woman won $2 million with her $3 Power Play ticket.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million and the odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million.

Players can buy $2 Powerball or Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location, through Online Play on the lottery’s website www.nclottery.com or by using their N.C. Lottery Official Mobile app.

Hi Stephanie, All of the drawings that were postponed have been conducted or rescheduled. You should be able to view the draw date on the 2nd chance page. Is there a specific drawing you're wondering about?

LZ, Rudolph P has a point. Sometimes the app works just fine but when it doesn't, it's crap. Logged out after 15 minutes huh? Well explain this. I come back later on and sometimes it acts like it still wants to attempt to function without logging out. Other times, it automatically logs me out while I'm scanning tickets, one after the other. It suddenly hits a snag, the circle keeps spinning and if it ever stops, it logs me out. Sometimes I log out on purpose because it won't stop spinning. And he's right, there are error messages. Not to mention the graphics and everything looked a LOT better previously. Everything's so bland now. No confetti, nothing. Maybe you need IT help that can actually fix these issues? NC Lottery

What was the point of updating the app and it's worse than before. Getting 'unknown error' pop ups. Can't scan the tickets, the 5 balls are always there which you need to get rid of. I emptied the cache, uninstalled it and installed it. It's junk!!!!NC Lottery

I got a noticed this morning to upload a new nclottery app my phone is 5 years old and it want let me my new ipad is only 2 years old and it want let me i guess i can't play online anymore??? NC Lottery
