Powerball ticket purchased with Online Play wins $2 million prize

Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced a $2 million prize for someone who bought a ticket through Online Play on the lottery’s website.

The $3 Power Play ticket matched the numbers on the five white balls, 8-12-19-47-58, beating odds of 1 in 11.6 million. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.

No one won Wednesday’s jackpot. The jackpot climbs to $47 million as an annuity prize or $37.7 million cash for Saturday’s drawing.

Powerball is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets either through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The other games are Mega Millions, Lucky For Life, and Carolina Cash 5.

Hi, Margaret! If you go into your account under "Transaction History" you should see a tab that says "Upcoming Purchased Draws" - this is where you can find your numbers for upcoming draws. And if you are a big winner with a ticket purchased through Online Play, you will get a notification through email notifying you of your win!

Where is my tickets I paid for? Hi Robert. On a desktop computer, click on the down arrow next to your screen name. Click on the transaction history and it will list all your past online purchases. Also you can click on online play history. I hope this helps.

@ncel. The players asking how do they get online winnings, you mentioned it goes to their winning wallet. Don't players have an option to receive winnings via EFT or check. I think your response is a little confusing NC Lottery
Sorry for the confusion, Sheila. Wins under $600 are automatically placed into a players wallet in their account. Once they are ready to withdraw those funds from their wallet to be transferred to their bank account, they can follow the prompts on their dashboard under "Withdraw Funds" to do so. Typically we do not issue physical checks for online wins.

Yes! Upon login after a win, the winner would receive a pop-up message notifying them as well as an email notification.

Hey there Kiana, If you're seeing it in your transaction history, that's good. TO view your numbers, you'll need to go to your transaction history and then select the option view upcoming purchased draws or past draws. Hope this helps!

Hi Annette, If you don't purchase tickets online, you would need to claim any prize you won at a retailer or claim center or by mail. If you use your account to enter Lucke-Rewards drawings and happen to win one of those, you would still need to visit one of our offices to claim.

Hey Jeannette, The lucky winner gets an auto-generated email notifying them of their win. While it is possible to know who purchased that ticket, we don't release that information until the lucky winner completes the claim process.

Hey there Kathy, It would depend on the size of the win. Wins under $600 are automatically added to your winnings wallet in your NC Lottery account. If you win over $600, you'll receive a notification with instructions on how you can claim your prize. Wins from $600-$99,999 can be claimed entirely online - you'd just need to complete a few steps. If you win over $100,000, you'd need to pay us a visit in Raleigh to claim your prize.

After a jackpot win, the winner would receive an email notifying them of the win and upon login to their NC Lottery account, they would see a pop-up message with the next steps. All of your "tickets" are stored in your NC Lottery account, so that's what takes the place of a paper ticket in the event of an online win. Hope this helps explain thing!
