Is there anyway possible to collect lottery winnings privately. Would getting a lawyer help?NC Lottery
Hi there Daryll, Just like most other states, the names of lottery winners are public in North Carolina. The North Carolina State Lottery Act spells out what limited information about a winner is a public record. That information includes: the winner's name, the city/county where the winner lives, the date of the win, the game the winner played, and the amount won. If you have concerns about your safety when claiming a prize, we recommend you speak with authorities or advisors before coming to lottery headquarters to claim.
