Cash 5 delivers $100,000 jackpot to Onslow County man

James Rogers of Jacksonville won the $100,000 jackpot in the Aug. 24th Cash 5 drawing.

Rogers bought his lucky $1 ticket from the Food Lion in the Branchwood Shopping Center in Jacksonville.

He claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state taxes, he took home $70,750.

Cash 5 is a statewide draw game that gives players the chance to win a jackpot every single night. Tickets cost $1 and players can buy tickets at most lottery retailers, through Online Play on the lottery’s website, or on the NC Lottery Official Mobile app.

Tuesday’s Cash 5 jackpot is $123,000.

Don't play online. They want your S.S. number. Photo I.D. a void check just to claim a $200 prize. I have gone through the whole thing and still not gotten my money after a week. I don't know if I ever will.NC Lottery

I need to know the ratio on online players vs traditional players. There are way too many online players. Seems to be fixedNC Lottery
Hi Michael, We have about 114,000 who currently play online. However, that's not to say that each one of those folks plays in every drawing. Compared to our in-store players, our online players make up a relatively small percentage of total sales. The odds of winning a drawing are the same regardless of where you buy your ticket.
