During this week’s winter storms, one of our biggest concerns is your safety. We want everyone to be cautious when it comes to claiming prizes during the storm.
We’ll be monitoring the weather at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and at each of our claim centers. When the weather starts to pose a hazard, we’ll close the centers.
As of Friday morning, the lottery’s Asheville regional office and claims center will close.
We'll post the closing information on our website and on our social media pages. Before you head to a claim center, please check to see if it's open during the storm.
After you win a prize you have plenty of time to claim it, so please don’t risk going out in bad weather. If you won a draw game, you have 180 days to claim. If you won a scratch-off prize, you have 90 days from the game’s end date to claim.
All lottery drawings will take place as scheduled. If you’re concerned about getting tickets during the storm, remember, you can always get draw game tickets for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life and Carolina Cash 5 through Online Play.
