Person County man wins $150,000 top prize

Geovany Garvalena of Roxboro bought a $5 VIP Cashword ticket and scratched off the $150,000 top prize.

Garvalena bought his ticket from the Roseville Grocery on Burlington Road in Roxboro and claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required tax withholdings, he took home $97,125.

VIP Cashword launched in March with five $150,000 top prizes. One $150,000 remains to be won.

LZ, I get an "Invalid ticket Submission" on a Colossal Cash ticket when trying to enter for points both using the scanner and trying manual entry. However when I scan to check the ticket it correctly identifies as a winner. What gives?NC Lottery
