4-4-4 wins Pick 3 players $3.7 million

Happy Thanksgiving to our Pick 3 players who like No. 4.

The numbers 4-4-4 in Tuesday evening’s Carolina Pick 3 drawing added up to a $3.7 million win for lottery players.

The drawing produced a lot of winners. In all, 9,513 winning tickets matched all three numbers. A player with a fifty-cent ticket won $250 and a player with a $1 ticket won $500.

Combinations of three of the same numbers are some of the most popular sets of numbers played. Whatever three numbers you pick, the odds of matching exactly all three in a Pick 3 drawing are the same: 1 in 1,000.

Winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

Drawings in the Carolina Pick 3 game are held twice a day, at 3 p.m. and at 11:22 p.m. Players can either pick their own numbers or select a Quick Pick by allowing the lottery terminal to generate a set of three numbers for them.

Congrats to all those who picked 4-4-4.

John T. Charlotte IS by far the biggest city in NC, population and area. Just google "biggest cities in NC". To Tim, I think you get what you play for & you win what you pay for.

Charlotte must have the most players in the whole state . More winners of all lottery prizes in the state seem to be won in Charlotte. Not even our biggest city but clearly the most winners anywhere.NC Lottery
Hi John! We see lots of luck across our state, but you are right in that areas with more players have more frequent winners! As Charlotte is the biggest city in NC, we tend to see a lot around that area!

LZ, in reference to James E's question, would the quick pick have to be played as Exact for that to be applicable? What if it's played Any or 50/50? How would it pay out, as Exact? Example: $80, $160, $500. Since a trip or quad are only Exact, just how would this pay out?

Hi James, great question! Quick Pick selects the numbers at random and it is possible for those numbers to be trips or quads.
