Chatham County man pockets $100,000 lottery prize

Dominic Cappabianca of Pittsboro took a chance on a $25 scratch-off ticket and won a $100,000 prize.

Cappabianca bought his lucky Extreme Cash ticket from the Refuel on Lifestyle Place in Pittsboro. He claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $70,757.

Well my birthday came on Thursday, bought tickets for the whole week up to Saturday. Purchased a scratch off on my birthday. Guess I'm not lucky as some folks are on here., but there is always another day. The most important thing is, I celebrated my birthday with my family at outback steak house. That was worth it all. Adios!

Hi Shannon, Winter Winnings is a jumbo sized ticket, so you might have to ask for it at the counter of your local lottery retailer. Sorry about that.
