Mecklenburg County man scores $100,000 prize

Obed De Lafuente Dominguez of Charlotte won $100,000 thanks to his $20 scratch-off ticket.

He purchased his winning ticket from Southpoint Market and Grill on South Point Road in Belmont.

De Lafuente Dominguez claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $70,756.

The $5,000,000 Fortune game launched in August 2019 with three top prizes of $5 million and six $100,000 prizes. One top prize and one $100,000 prize remains to be won.

I bet anything he's here illegally. I may have to send Gov. Cooper a letter asking that anyone believed to be here illegally provide proof of citizenship before they can claim a large prize.

Hey ncel! My favorite store switched owners and all the scratch off tickets were removed and the new owner has to apply for a whole different account. What happens to those scratch offs that are collected what is there was a winner in a that stash ? NC Lottery
Hi Michael, when a retailer terminates their account with us, any unsold inventory would be destroyed. Any prize money in those tickets would be split, with 50% going to education funding, and 50% returned to players in other prize forms, like Lucke Rewards prizes.

LZ, when I check my lucke-rewards page it shows a tab for "Digital Games". When are the digital games going to be available online?NC Lottery
Hi Mike, the digital games tab is used for digital games and prizes that we currently offer. At this time that only includes winning Lucke Rewards points and additional Second Chance entries. (Like when we had the digital game for the Holiday Second Chance to multiply your entries.) Keep an eye on the blog for any new digital game offerings in the future!
