Wayne County woman wins $139,140 Cash 5 jackpot

Mary Bellamy of Dudley bought an Online Play ticket for Saturday’s Cash 5 jackpot and won the $139,140 jackpot.

Bellamy claimed her prize Tuesday and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $98,442.

Carolina Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night. Wednesday’s jackpot is $176,000. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.

Cash 5 is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets through Online Play either through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

My name is Merice R Brown, and I have an online account. I have one question: Why can’t a person with an online account enter their purchased ticket (Cash 5, Megs Million, etc.) in the Lucky Reward Ticket Entry? Tickets purchased online does not give anyone the option to enter a purchased ticket because an entry code is not available. I have every right to be given the option previously mentioned. Have I overlooked some details within my online account?NC Lottery
Hi Merice, don't worry, draw game purchases through Online Play receive points automatically. If you go to "Points History" under the main menu, you can see all the Lucke-Rewards points that you have earned from your purchases.

Hi Teresa, unfortunately this winner didn't disclose how she chose her numbers. The winning numbers were 15 17 22 27 33 if that helps.

Hi Al, sorry for the wait. The time it takes to process a withdrawal can differ depending on the withdrawal method. ACH withdrawals typically take between 3-5 business days, VISA withdrawals between 1-2 business days, and PayPal withdrawals within 1 business day or less.
