Powerball ticket sold in Wake County wins $1 million prize

Saturday’s Powerball drawing produced a $1 million prize for someone who bought a ticket at a convenience store in Wake County.

The winner bought the ticket at Bayleaf Convenience & Deli on Six Forks Road in Raleigh. The lucky ticket won the highest prize nationally in Saturday’s drawing.

The $2 ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls, 1-16-48-49-65. The odds of matching all five white balls in a Powerball drawing are 1 in 11.6 million. The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim their prizes.

No one won Saturday’s Powerball jackpot. The jackpot will climb to $42 million as an annuity or $31 million cash for Wednesday’s drawing.

The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Powerball tickets through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App, or at any lottery retail location.

LZ, I hate to ask the same question twice, but you haven't given me an answer on the PB promo. Is it 4 draws (2 weeks X twice a week drawing) or 6 draws?? Six draws is not an option online. options are next drawing, next 2 , 3, 4 or 5, then it jumps up to 10.NC Lottery
Hi Denver, I agree the way this promotion is set up could be a bit confusing. The easiest way to get your free tickets is to add 1 Powerball draw to your shopping cart. Then, in the shopping cart, you will see a new popup banner allowing you to "Add 5 Powerball draws and get a $4 Discount". After clicking the green "Add Draws" button you will now have 6 total tickets in your cart but will only be charged for 4. Hope that helps to clear things up.

Michael B., every time they change games like C5 they have a trickle down of future draws you can purchase. I went to (buy now) on C5 & chose 90 draws to see if it would stop me. It did not , but I did not go thru with purchase. NCEL has said new C5 is coming in late spring. I am guessing April or May.

Congrats you lucky duck. LZ speaking of Powerball. Your online promo doesn't add up right. It states buy 2 weeks worth , get 1 free. But the details say minimum purchase "6 draws". Two draws a week times 2 weeks would be 4 draws, would it not? Would your "free week" numbers be the same as the draws you purchased?
