Thousands of North Carolinians found their own pot of gold on St. Patrick’s Day this year.
March 17th drawings produced:
- Two Cash 5 winners, who will split the $1.6 million jackpot
- One $100,000 Powerball winner; and
- 5,530 Pick 3 winners.
Two lucky North Carolinians hit the record-high Cash 5 jackpot on St. Patrick’s Day!
The jackpot totaled $1,648,320, making it the second highest jackpot ever in game history.
One lucky winner purchased their ticket at the M & H Express of Garner on West Garner Road in Garner.
The other winning ticket was purchased through Online Play.
Both tickets matched all five white balls in Wednesday’s drawing, 15-16-17-19-37. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.
Carolina Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night.
Wednesday’s Powerball drawing also produced a $100,000 win.
The winner bought the ticket through Online Play. The lucky ticket matched numbers on four of the white balls and the Powerball.
The winner has 180 days from the drawing to claim their prizes.
No one won Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot. The jackpot climbs to $200 million as an annuity or $136.5 million cash for Saturday’s drawing. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Wednesday’s Double Draw was the fifth draw this month. Remember—the Double Draw is guaranteed to occur once every seven days.
Double Draw Results:
- First chance: 5-1-8. 3,628 tickets won a total of $552,966 in cash prizes.
- Second chance: The Double Draw: 6-5-3. 1,902 tickets won a total of $212,266 in cash prizes.
Since the Red Ball was drawn, the Double Draw machine has been reset. Thursday night’s drawing will have six white balls and one red.
