You got your first chance to play the lottery in North Carolina 15 years ago today – March 30, 2006 − and since then the fun and games have raised $8 billion for education programs in our state.

We’ve created some fun ways for you to celebrate the anniversary with us. Here’s how.

Use your Lucke-Rewards points to enter our 15th Anniversary Cash drawing. You could win a $15,000 grand prize or one of the 15 prizes of 1,500 Lucke-Rewards points. The entry deadline is Wednesday and the drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 7.
Collect a surprise gift from us to celebrate. Today and Wednesday only, earn 15X Lucke-Rewards points on all games. Yes, everything - scratch-offs, draw games, Fast Play, and Keno. Earn 15X points when you enter your tickets into your Lucke-Rewards account during the next two days. Learn more here.

Every ticket that is purchased provides money for education. At our current level of sales, the lottery raises an average of $2 million a day for education.

We’re proud to play our part in supporting our students and schools and will work to continue this success for the next 15 years. This year, the money raised by the lottery:

Supports the costs of school workers in all school systems
Helps to build and repair schools in all 100 counties
Helps to make college more affordable to students attending state universities and community colleges
Supports the NC Pre-K program for at-risk four-year-olds
Helps cover the costs of school transportation.

Plus, under a new school construction program created four years ago, 30 counties in North Carolina have received grants of $10 million to $15 million to help build new schools.

We know you’re glad to help out education, but that you are hoping for your own wins too. Since 2006, total prizes add up to an estimated $18 billion, including seven Powerball or Mega Million jackpot wins ranging from $12 million to $344.6 million.

Hey, how come no promo codes anywhere? thought for sure there would be one for fathers day. what happen, we got codes for other "events" Im sick of looking on face book,nothing there either. post the codes when you tell us to look for them or stop the promo,waste of time!NC Lottery

How come the scratch off tickets end with tens of thousands of remaining prizes, doesn't that change the odds of winning if prizes were not awarded?NC Lottery
Hi Carlo, the odds of winning that are published are referring to the odds at the time of the first printing. Oftentimes we will begin ticket pickups around the time that the last top prize is claimed so that players don't purchase a ticket in the hopes of winning a big top prize that has already been claimed. We also do our best to have ticket pickups coincide with the release of a new game with a similar price point and prize structure so that players who have been enjoying a certain ticket will have a similar option available to them. How are the winners selected in the Lucke-Rewards drawings?NC Lottery
Hi Jessie, great question! A random number generator assigns each entry a random number and then picks one of the random numbers. There are no names input into the RNG. It has no idea which players have entered, who they are or if they deserve to win more than anyone else. The results are totally random and fair to everyone. To ensure fairness to all players, all lottery drawings are done with an auditor present and all the lottery’s security practices are independently reviewed on a regular basis.

I entered tickets for 2 days for the 15x promotion. I accumulated a lot of points, but when I entered them for the drawing I was misled into believing that there were 15 top prizes of $15,000. The 1500 points is a joke. I also think you should've lifted the 75 ticket limit during those 2 days. I have plenty of tickets I could have entered.

Hi Keith, for the month of April we are offering 5X Bonus Points on Cash 5 tickets. At the end of the month we will start offering Cash 5 Double Play. Double Play gives you two ways to win with your Cash 5 numbers. When you add Double Play to Cash 5, your numbers are included in a second drawing for additional cash prizes. The cost to add Double Play is $1 per play. We will have a lot more information about Double Play soon, so stay tuned!

just wondering i don't use all my points every month, just sort of whatever i seem to like at the moment. So what does the star in front of the lucke rewards points mean and can we have more than 100,000 points at one time. Thanks again for all those extra points, the most i got at one time was 4500 on a $30 ticket. There is no limit to the number of points that you can accumulate, and points only expire if you don’t sign in to your account for 13 consecutive months. I'm not quite sure which star in front of Lucke-Rewards points you are referring to, could you provide some more information about where you see the star? Thanks, and good luck!

Thanks LZ. All good here. I wrote down my points balance this morning. A few minutes ago I entered a $10 C5 ticket, no change in balance and did not show up in activity. Went and got a cup of coffee. Logged back in and saw my points balance had went up 3000 pts. Neither ticket is showing up in activity for bonus pts like the scratchers. They are showing under "tickets". Fine with me, just a weird delay.NC Lottery

Hey LZ, I am loving the bonus points!!! I entered a $40 Keno ticket yesterday and it did not give me any bonus points. WoW, Happy Anniversary to All of us in North Carolina. 15 and counting. Remember when we all would go the the surrounding states just to play lottery, oh yea. South of the Boarder got so popular they would have multiple lines, Restaurants closed to turn into lottery outlets with all the tables full of people from our state scratching.
