Georgia woman bags $250,000 lottery prize

Tahereh Gholinezhad of Woodstock, GA found herself the latest winner of a $250,000 20X The Cash top prize.

“We’re very excited, we can’t believe it,” she said as she claimed her prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. “We were shocked!”

Gholinezhad purchased her winning $5 ticket from the Circle K on U.S. 421 South in Broadway.

After required federal and state tax withholdings, Gholinezhad took home $176,876.

Congrats to the winner from Georgia. Johnny P I was born and raised in NC but currently live in Georgia. I own a home in NC and comes to NC on a regular basis so when I am in NC I like to play the lottery and hope to win even though I am currently residing in Georgia. I truly don’t understand why you think that is a problem. If I win my money will be spent in both places ??

There's something fishy going on here. How can the same location sell winning tickets of 4 million and $250,000? The odds that both winning tickets would be at the exact same location are astronomical. I know I gripe alot, but in this case I have every right to.

Well if I said once or twice NC people who in rural county don't chance he** of winning the lottery in nc. The lottery people want to give to people out of state who takes to their state to spend. I feel that slap in the face your home state. You put 10000 entries in you name or number wouldn't chose for second chances drawings or scratch off. I think needs to some change in the lottery office look in by Attorney general office Help us Josh Stein Tried lose money to big city and other states.
