Jill Panther of Henrietta tried her luck on a Powerball ticket and took home a $100,000 win.

The $3 Power Play ticket matched numbers on four of the white balls and the Powerball in the April 17 drawing. Panther’s prize doubled to $100,000 when the 2X multiplier was drawn.

The odds of matching four white balls and the Powerball in a drawing are 1 in 913,129.

Panther purchased her winning ticket at the Key Largo Food Mart off U.S. 221-A in Mooresboro.

She claimed her prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and took home $70,751 after required federal and state tax withholdings.

No one won Saturday’s Powerball jackpot. The jackpot stands at $116 million as an annuity or $80.6 million cash for Wednesday’s drawing. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Players can buy Powerball tickets through Online Play on the lottery’s website, with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App, or at any lottery retail location.

Ticket sales from Powerball make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $725 million a year for education. A $15 million grant, using money raised by lottery, will help Rutherford County build Rutherford-Spindale Middle School, replacing the current 94-year old school building.

Will the Cash5 online buying include doubleplay/ easymatch?NC Lottery
That's a great question! Cash 5 EZ Match and Double Play were created for traditional retailers, not Online Play. Online Play does not currently allow for EZ Match or Double Play, but we will let our developers know you are interested in seeing that added. Thanks!
