Trips of 1-1-1 provide $2.4 million in Pick 3 prizes

The numbers 1-1-1 popped up again in Sunday afternoon’s Carolina Pick 3 drawing, adding up to a $2.4 million win for lottery players.

Sunday’s drawing produced 6,523 winning tickets that matched all three numbers.

The winning numbers are known as “trips” among players of the Pick 3 game. Trips are some of the most popular combination of numbers played.

This is the third time in two weeks that trips of 1-1-1-have come up in Pick 3 drawings. The other times occurred in the evening drawing on March 23 and the daytime drawing on March 28.

In any drawing, any set of numbers have the same chance of being drawn as any other set of numbers no matter how often they have come out before. Each drawing is a singular, random event. The odds of matching all three numbers in a Pick 3 drawing are 1 in 1,000.

Yes, I think all the games are rigged. Like someone said, if you don't know somebody that works there, your chances are slim to none.
