Wayne County woman scores $110,000 Cash 5 jackpot

Alice Breeze of Goldsboro took a chance on a Cash 5 ticket and took home a $110,000 jackpot prize.

She purchased her winning Quick Pick ticket for Tuesday’s drawing at the Sheetz on North Spence Avenue in Goldsboro.

Breeze claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and took home $77,825 after required federal and state tax withholdings.

Carolina Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night. Thursday’s jackpot is $110,000. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.

Cash 5 is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets through Online Play either through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

That makes no sense. Powerball is a national game so that has no impact on NC only games; Scratch Offs and Fast Play are NC only game and you updated the Cash 5 which is NC only. Apples and Oranges here. And you had an error on the Pick 3, so what's going on at the NCEL?NC Lottery

What's going on with updates on games today? The Powerball is still pending, Scratch Off remaining prizes and Fast Play haven't been updated and it's after noon already...NC Lottery
