Monday night Powerball drawing offers jackpot of $293 million

The first Monday night Powerball drawing will be an exciting one, offering you a chance at a $293 million jackpot as an annuity or $214.2 million cash.

Monday’s drawing kicks off a change in the game as Powerball add a third night to the weekly drawings. That’s right. You will have a chance every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night to win a life-changing jackpot.

This game change also should result in larger, faster-growing jackpots.

Tickets will remain at $2. The prizes and odds stay the same, too.

If you use play slips to play Powerball, you’ll need to use new Powerball play slips beginning  Sunday. Just pick one up wherever you buy your Powerball tickets. Beginning today, you also can buy multi-draw tickets for up to 30 drawings.

The Monday night drawings will be held at 10:59 p.m. You can now watch the Monday night drawing live online at Powerball.com with a new live stream feature that began this summer.

Double Play will also give you more chances to win if it is available in your jurisdiction. It will initially be offered in Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington. More states may offer the game in future.

It is now Tuesday eveniong and I still am getting a Pending for Wednesday jackpot amount. What ls going on? Wad there a winner? I( can't ever remember it taking so long.NC Lottery
Hi Benjamin, unfortunately a couple states were delayed in reporting their lottery winners so there was some delay in updating the jackpot amount. All states have now finished reported their winners and the website now shows the correct jackpot amount for tonight's drawing. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I think it's crazy that a multi (44) state game like PB can have an add on like double play and only 13 states offer it. SC does and NC doesn't. No matter , 2nd drawing jackpot is only $10 million, doesn't increase and has no multiplier. All the other payouts aren't that great either.

I've read National Powerball news says there will be a DOUBLE PLAY on Powerball for an extra 1.00(there will be additional numbers drawn). On the new play slips there isn't a DOUBLE PLAY Option? WHY NOT?? HOW DOES ONE OPTAIN THIS? Other States have it on their new play slips.NC Lottery
Hi Darlene, thanks for the question. Some states have decided to add Double Play to Powerball but at this time the North Carolina lottery has not added this feature to Powerball.
