Connecticut man mines $200,000 lottery prize in Raleigh

Javian Morton of Stamford, Conn., watched his $5 scratch-off reveal a $200,000 prize.

He purchased his winning Diamond Mine 9X ticket from the Circle K on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

Morton claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and took home $141,501 after required federal and state tax withholdings.

Yet another top prize won in Wake county and by someone who had no business buying a ticket. It's a crying shame that I can't win a top prize, but this interloper swoops in from Connecticut and does it.
