$570 million jackpot ranks as 8th largest in Powerball history

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night has climbed to the 8th largest in the history of the game.

A winner would have the choice of taking the jackpot as a $570 million annuity or as a cash payment of $410.1 million. If won, the $570 million jackpot would become the 8th largest ever.

One of the winners of the Powerball jackpot that holds the No. 8 spot now was a North Carolina player. The jackpot stood at $564 million back in February 2015 when a Brunswick County woman had one of three winning tickets. She became one of five people in North Carolina who have won a Powerball jackpot so far.

The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

In August, Powerball began offering a third weekly drawing on Monday nights. Drawings are also held Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Players can buy Powerball through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App, or at any lottery retail location.

The scanner is worse with the new update. They used a similar program they had years ago for the scanner, it was crap, too. What's with the bar on the scanner going up and down? It's not doing anything. It's just for show, just like on some weather reports on tv.They show radar beams going around and nothing is updating.NC Lottery

I’ve tried everything and spoken with the helpdesk to no avail I have now deleted and reloaded the app several times it’s already been updated my iPhone is up-to-date on every possible thing but the scanner is not working can anybody that has an iPhone give me any suggestions on what to do next thank youNC Lottery

It took me 4ever, but I got it down loaded & installed. Worx fine. All kinds of excuses given. 1st thing delete old version. Must have down loaded 10 times, kept coming up install failed. Not enough internal storage space to install App. So I deleted a bunch of videos & pics & un used apps. Then I finally was able to actually install it. I guess the new app takes up more space on your phone then the old version. I have a simple android tracphone.NC Lottery

Is anybody having problems after doing the new update on an iPhone for the lottery page? The scanner isn’t working we have deleted and reloaded the app for separate times to no avail we have cleared the cache and then all the things that the lottery tells you to do but the ticket scanner is still not working is there a known issue going on since this recent update? Mobile App Problem needs fixing ASAP - older version of App will not download, even after I deleted and reinstalled App. iPhone 6 iOS 12.5.5 (latest iOS 12 Version). "Update Now" screen leads to "Download an older version of this app?" but when I hit "Download" it just comes right back to this same screen offering "Cancel" and "Download". Please have IT Team fix as soon as possible so I can download the older version and continue to use the App on my iPhone. Thank you!NC Lottery
