Bertie County woman bags $150,000 on scratch-off

Vastie Cooper of Windsor took a chance on a $5 scratch-off ticket and won $150,000.

Cooper’s lucky Holiday Cheer ticket came from the Friendly Check Cashing on Washington Street in Williamston.

Cooper arrived at lottery headquarters on Tuesday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $106,516.

The Holiday Cheer game launched in November with four top prizes of $150,000. One top prize remains to be claimed.

Hi Denver! The 4th Multiply the Cash drawing is actually still accepting entries until January 31st! As for either of those upcoming, we are still working on planning more promotions and Second Chance drawings, but we will share information about any we do as soon as they are set in place!

Congratulations!!! On a side note. We keep reading about people not being able to access WRAL for the live drawings without registration but we are not having that problem at all we can watch them anytime even previous drawings I wonder if certain providers of Internet service may be the cause it’s the only thing I can think of but here on our end we have absolutely no problem and there’s no requirement for registration.
