Rowan County man collects $100,000 lottery win

Ricardo Sandoval Magdaleno of Gold Hill tried his luck on a $20 scratch-off ticket and won a $100,000 lottery prize.

Magdaleno bought his lucky Premier Cash ticket from the Circle K on South Salisbury Avenue in Granite Quarry. He claimed his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after required federal and state withholdings, took home $71,016.

The Premier Cash game debuted in August 2021 with four top prizes of $2 million and eight $100,000 prizes. Magdaleno won the last $100,000 prize. One $2 million prize remains to be claimed.

@ Ncel I know where to find the up to date list of games , that's how I see games ending that still have top prizes left. IE:, you're recently ending 3 $ 5.00 games ( that just came out last year ) with 2-3 top prizes left on them; Diamond Mine, Wildcash Multiplier and game 769 20 x cash while some games are kept going with ZERO top prizes left much longer.... Those are the ones that should be ending. When the odds get somewhat decent to win on a ticket they get pulled, see this happen a lot . You're game, you're sandbox though .NC Lottery
Hi, Tony! Thanks for your response. We do try to wait until all top prizes are won in a game, although sometimes they do have to end before they are all won. Please know that when games end, the funds from remaining prizes are divided and 50% go into the NC Education fund and the other 50% go back to players in the form of prizes for other games.

Why can't online players add the Additional play options to Cash5? I want to play the added options offered and there's no way to add them?NC Lottery

Hi, Tony! Generally, we do wait until all of the top prizes of a game have been won to end a game, although sometimes we will remove games based on popularity to make room for new games in stores. Hi Roger, thanks for the question! Usually we wait until all the top prizes have been won before ending a game, but sometimes a game can end earlier based on it's popularity and if we have any similar games available. Good luck!
