Barbara Gullatt of Raleigh took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $368,522 jackpot.

Gullatt won her first $824,160 Cash 5 jackpot in March of 2021.

She purchased her lucky ticket for Sunday’s drawing from Fuel Stop on Little Brier Creek Lane in Raleigh. She arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $261,688.

Cash 5 is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or Online Play, either through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Cash 5 tickets are $1 and drawings are held every night. Tuesday’s jackpot is $110,000.

@NCEL, Thank you, but all I've received from both Speedway and the NCEL is apologies. I realize the NCEL isn't at fault here, but even someone from there admitted to me that the cashier was improperly trained. She thought it was too late and it cost me the only chance I've ever had of winning pick 3. Even if it had been too late the ticket would've carried over to the next day's drawing. I tried to explain this to her, but she said I'm not going to sell you a ticket.

Starting to think it has more to do with where you play than what numbers you play.NC Lottery
Hi, Christopher! Regardless of where you play - big city, small town, mountains, coast, or anywhere in between - your odds of being a lucky winner are the same! It just takes a whole lot of luck, but the odds are the same for everyone regardless of where players purchase their tickets - it has to be that way for it to be fair for everyone :)

I suspect she either works for the NCEL or is married to someone high up. It's a shame that the NCEL will gladly handover a jackpot win to her twice, but refuses to pay me the $500 I was cheated out of. I have several family members who have offered to give me the $500 just to let it go, but I'm not going to drop the matter. Right now I'm seriously considering renting a billboard saying Speedway and the NCEL cheated me out of $500, Don't let them cheat you. Insist that your cashier sell you a ticket!NC Lottery
Hi, Charles! NC Lottery employees and their family members, as well as vendors and their family members, are not eligible to play NC Lottery games or win prizes. Additionally, we apologize that you were unable to buy the Pick 3 ticket you mention. Most likely, the combination had reached liability limits and no more tickets for that combo could be sold.

Unbelievable, stuff like this really makes you question the integrity of this lottery.
