Harnett County woman wins $100,000 in second-chance drawing

Susan Cummings of Lillington entered a second-chance drawing and won the top prize of $100,000.

Wednesday’s Multiply The Cash second-chance drawing awarded one top prize of $100,000. There were more than 14.2 million entries in the drawing. The drawing was the fourth and final second-chance drawing in the 2021 Multiply The Cash promotion.

Cummings claimed her prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,010.

@Donna, YES, keep putting them in. Don't throw away the points and entries. You will still get 20 entries for the $20 tickets and 10 entries for the $10 older ones, plus maybe even up to 5 times the points. You will get 100 bonus pts everytime you enter 1 of all 5 of the new tickets that came out on Feb 1st. GOOD LUCK.

How do I scan my tickets NC Lottery
Hi Betty, thanks for the question! There are several ways for you to do this. You can go to any NC Lottery retailer and scan your tickets using the ticket checker there. If there's a Touch Vending Machine, you can also scan your tickets there. Finally, if you download the NC Lottery mobile app you can check your tickets via the app.

The tickets should transfer to the next drawing if you didn't win. Sometimes the tickets are sold out and you can't reenter the drawing.
