Winston-Salem man wins $100,000 on scratch-off

Jin Jiang of Winston-Salem tried his luck on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 prize.

Jiang bought the lucky Millionaire Maker ticket from the Quality Mart on Yadkinville Highway in Pfafftown. He arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect his prize and, after tax withholdings, took home $65,010.

I'm just wondering why he took home $65,010 when everybody else takes home 71K on a 100,000 dollar win, Did he opt out for more taxes. ThanksNC Lottery
