Debra Kessler of Claremont took a chance on a $20 scratch-off ticket and won a $100,000 prize.

Kessler bought her lucky Ultimate 7’s ticket from the D Mart on Oxford School Road in Catawba. Kessler arrived at lottery headquarters Friday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,016.

The Ultimate 7’s game launched in May with four top prizes of $2 million and eight $100,00 prizes. One $2 million prize remains to be claimed.

@Denver G. Thanks. That makes sense.I won $400 today on the new $30 ticket. So I'm happy.

Not my store Michael. I think William is having a hard time finding them. The stores buys $30 paks for $837 & sells them for $900. $20 paks cost them $558 and sells for $600. ALL other paks cost the store $279 and sells for $300. I got into a heated exchange with a clerk about this when she said they didn't make 7% profit. And she refused to cash one of my $250 winners unless I bought tickets then and there.....

Agreed Denver. Stores have to pick the best selling tickets as well. Maybe the $30 colossal ticket wasn’t a big seller at your store. I would be very surprised if they ended the game early. They should definitely think about ending the $20 Christmas game.

Hey Sheila, I have not seen anything that would lead me to believe the Colossal cash is ending. Maybe with the release of the red 200X the cash $30 ticket and renewal of the orange one, stores can not afford to order all 3.. Not everyone knows stores buy the packs of tickets. A $300 roll cost the store $279. Hence the 7% profit they make. All the more reason for them to buy the best sellers...

@william g. Thanks for sharing. I had no idea the $30 Colossal is ending. My favorite game... bummer! Wow!

Hi, is there a reason why the NCEL wont tell players when they are starting to pull tickets from stores? You did that with the $20 $150 Million tickets and now the $30 Colossal Cash tickets are being pulled by the NCEL and both have top prizes left. You could drive sales if you told players this! Otherwise its done in the dark, the $20 $150 Million ticket has been out of stores for almost a month yet the sales end date isnt until 3/11!!NC Lottery
Hey, William! We post blog updates about games ending soon and we keep the running list of games ending updated on our website here: https://nclottery.com/ScratchOffEnding with the list of games. When games are ending soon, retailers may stop ordering them in advance, which is why they may get harder to find. If games are ended with top prizes remaining, 50% of those prizes will go to the NC Education fund and 50% will go back to players in the form of prizes for other games!
