Nash County woman wins $700,000, her second major lottery win

Already the winner of a Cash 5 jackpot, Judy Marshburn of Spring Hope found herself back in the winner’s circle Wednesday, this time collecting the first $700,000 top prize in a new scratch-off game.

Marshburn previously won a Cash 5 jackpot of $307,726 in June of 2008.

“I doubled my win this time,” Marshburn said. “Next time I’m coming for the million.”

Marshburn, 57, bought her lucky $10 Scorching Hot 7s ticket from the Stop N Shop on East Nash Street in Spring Hope.

“I looked at it and I just couldn’t believe it,” Marshburn said. “I’m just very blessed.”

Marshburn claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after required federal and state withholdings, took home $497,073.

The Scorching Hot 7s game debuted this month with four top prizes of $700,000. Three $700,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

I know you can not tell me what the winning numbers will be for the pick 3 or pick 4 numbers I play but can you tell me if my numbers will be off one up or down for the next draw please? The system always picks my numbers but they are always off by one. So I win nothing way to many times.NC Lottery
Hey there, Ron! We don't know the numbers in advance - it's all the luck of the draw. All of our practices are independently reviewed and audited, and our Pick 3 and Pick 4 drawings are no exception. Each drawing is an independent event and past draw results do not influence future ones. Each combination has a 1 in 1,000 chance for Pick 3, or 1 in 10,000 chance for Pick 4, to be chosen in each drawing. That said, you may like to play the 1-Off option on the tickets, which will award a prize if one or more of your numbers are one up or down from the numbers drawn!

someone having fun with the History... been this way a long time. Like a puzzle. first you click Points History, then go to 2ndChance, then click the next button then go back and it will show the next 2 But the third tickets entered is tricky... go to News Blog open one of the news then go back to History and Waalaa the tickets entered will show up...

Why can't we use the double play feature on the the cash 5 on the website? please fix..... All this money NC lottery wins your website should be up and running with all featthe features for lottery and also the website is frozen as stated above NC Lottery
