Hertford County man wins $200,000 on scratch-off

Ken Gatling of Ahoskie tried his luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $200,000 prize.

Gatling bought his lucky Double Cash Doubler ticket from the Duck Thru on N.C. 42 West in Ahoskie. He arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $142,021.

Congratulations on your big win! Hey, I won 5.00 dollars on the new HOT 5's..wow! Lucky me. No 500,no 2,000,no 200,000 either. No gut feeling, first time in a long time I have purchased a scratch-off. If I'd had the extra cash, I would have bought more of them. So I will use the 5 bucks to purchase gas with,after I add 5 more to it. Good luck everyone!
