How would you like to go on a trip to New York City and get a chance to be the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year?

Starting today, you can enter for your chance to be one of eight North Carolinians to attend “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

Seven winners of this second-chance drawing get a four-day, three-night trip to New York City for an exclusive New Year’s Eve party.

A grand prize winner from North Carolina will get the trip and will be entered in a drawing to be conducted shortly after midnight on Jan. 1, 2023 during the live television broadcast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC for a $1 million prize.

To qualify, you must purchase a single Powerball ticket valued at $6 or more. Then, enter the ticket into Lucke-Rewards at nclottery.com or scan it into Lucke-Rewards using the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. If you buy a qualifying ticket through Online Play, you will be automatically entered into the drawing.

The deadline to enter the Sept. 7 drawing is Aug. 31.

The trip packages include (for you and a guest):

Round-trip airfare
Hotel accommodations, transportation, meals
Exclusive New Year’s Eve party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, offering prime viewing of the Times Square ball drop
$1,000 in spending money

A trip to New York City for a New Year’s Eve party in Times Square can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We hope one of the North Carolina winners who makes that trip will be the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year.

Kinda misleading as after taxes you wont be a millionaire ?? more like $6-700k if it was a $2million prize then you'd officially be a millionaire its all a numbers game. And how many consecutive losses in a stack of tickets to be deamed a rigged game? Hit 5 has literally not paid out $5 out of 20 cards id like to think there would be least 1 5 in that amount of tickets seems messed up odds somewhere down the line. Other games pay out least 10 here and there within a good range that I've played but not hit 5 its the worst NC Lottery
Hi Nicholas, like all lottery prizes, minimum state and federal taxes would be withheld on this Powerball Second Chance prize as well. The odds for scratch-off tickets are for the entire printed run of all the tickets. That means that while the overall odds maybe 1 in 4 tickets are a winner, it doesn't mean if you pulled 4 tickets in row one would be a winning ticket. Sometimes several winning tickets can be in row, or several non-winning tickets.

Hi Thomas, to get an entry into this Second Chance promotion the total value of your Powerball purchase must be $6 or more. You can reach that by purchasing three tickets, or two tickets with Power Play in a single purchase.

While Purchasing online Spending$ $6 means that the power play is fine (Ex 2 power ball tickets with power play becomes 6$) or do i need to buy 3 tickets without power play ??NC Lottery
Hi Uma, either purchase option will qualify. Two Tickets with Power Play, or three tickets without in a single purchase.
