Chatham County man celebrates $100,000 scratch-off win

Adolfo Aguilar of Goldston tried his luck on a $30 scratch-off and pocketed a $100,000 prize.

Aguilar bought his lucky Fabulous Fortune ticket from La Guadalupana De Siler City on West Raleigh Street in Siler City.

Aguilar collected his prize at lottery headquarters Wednesday and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,019.

Fabulous Fortune debuted this month with six $3 million prizes and 18 $100,000 prizes. Five $3 million prizes and 15 $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Congrats every1??but don't you wonder whwhere the lottery money really goes? Scschools closing no supplies teachers ststill coming out of their pockets? N no ththeir not building schools or providing free lunches??

You'll have a larger volume of both winning and non-winning tickets in proportion with the odds. That has no effect on the likelihood of a particular ticket winning or not winning a prize, whether it be in a big city or a small town. It has to be that way in order for the lottery to be fair to everyone.
