$322,865 Cash 5 ticket sold in Winston-Salem expiring soon

Cash 5 players in North Carolina, especially those around Winston-Salem, should double-check any tickets they have to see if they are the winner of an unclaimed $322,865 prize.

The ticket was purchased for the March 3 drawing and will expire on Wednesday, Aug. 31. It was sold at the Speedway on Yadkinville Road in Winston-Salem.

The ticket matched the numbers of all five white balls in the drawing to win the $322,865 jackpot. The winning numbers for the drawing were:

21-29-30-34-36

The odds of matching all five white balls in a drawing are 1 in 962,598.

To claim the prize, the ticket must be presented at lottery headquarters in Raleigh by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31. This deadline ends the 180-day period for winners to claim prizes from the March 3 drawing.

To help find the winner, the Education Lottery is sharing news about the unclaimed prize with statewide media, posting alerts on the lottery’s website and social media channels, and working with Speedway to post a banner alerting customers at the store of the unclaimed $322,865 prize.

Hi, Jeffrey! When a lottery prize goes unclaimed, 50% of that prize goes to the NC Education fund, and the other 50% goes back to players in the form of prizes for games and promotions, including Lucke-Rewards drawings and our social media promotions!

Hey there, Kimberly! Half of unclaimed prize money goes to education—the good cause that the lottery serves. The other half is available to be used as prize money in other games and lottery promotions.
