Forsyth County woman wins $100,000 Powerball prize

Whitney Pakalka of Winston Salem took a chance on a $3 Powerball ticket and won a $100,000 prize.

She bought her lucky Power Play ticket using Online Play on the lottery’s website. It matched the numbers on four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000 in the Aug.15 drawing. The prize doubled to $100,000 when the 2X Power Play multiplier hit.

Pakalka claimed her prize Friday at lottery headquarters and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $71,011.

Monday’s Powerball drawing offers a $193 million jackpot, or $105 million in cash. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

Powerball is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The other games are Mega Millions, Lucky For Life, and Carolina Cash 5.

How many entries did the winners of the s’more money have ? Also how many entires did the winner of the last Carolina rolling jackpot have ? I had 1693 on the s’more but I’m guessing didn’t get close to winning . I’m just trying to figure out how many entries the average person has on drawings so I know if there is anyway to increase my oddsNC Lottery

We can't say how many entries a winner had (we don't have that info), but we can say that we received around 5,844,405 entries for our S'more Money drawing and 16,813,657 entries in our 2nd Carolina Jackpot second chance drawing. It's important to remember that all entries have the same odds of being randomly selected, although having more entries does increase your odds of being a winner!
