Raleigh man enjoys $448,884 Cash 5 jackpot win

Adam Silverman of Raleigh took a chance on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $448,884 jackpot Monday evening.

Silverman bought his lucky ticket using Online Play on the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. His ticket matched all five numbers to win the jackpot. The odds of matching numbers on all five balls are 1 in 962,598.

Silverman claimed his prize at lottery headquarters Thursday in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $319,831.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

319,831 dollars would get my family to a lot of countries. I watch the amazing race, and the countries they go to are so beautiful. I sit and pause the TV just staring at that beautiful places. Hard to believe it's on this earth. That's where I want to travel to. Hopefully one day soon!NC Lottery
