8-8-8 wins Pick 3 players more than $2.86 million

Wow! What a way to head into a new year.

Congratulations go out this afternoon to all our Pick 3 players who play trips of 8-8-8.

Those numbers in today’s Pick 3 drawing delivered $2.86 million in prizes for lottery players.

In all, 7,374 winning tickets matched all three numbers. A player with a fifty-cent ticket won $250 and a player with a $1 ticket won $500.

Combinations of three of the same numbers, known as “trips”, are some of the most popular sets of numbers played. Whatever three numbers you pick, the odds of matching exactly all three in a Pick 3 drawing are the same: 1 in 1,000.

Winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

Now you also have the choice of buying Pick 3 tickets at your favorite store or on our website using the Online Play program.

There appears to be a glitch in the check numbers section on the website. Each time I enter a number on my Android phone the keyboard automatically switches to the alphabet board. I cannot enter all 3/4 numbers without this happening. I'm reasonably sure the issue is on your end because I have no problems like this on other sites.NC Lottery

Prizes under $600 will automatically be deposited into your account, and you can withdraw your winnings balance to the financial institution of your choice. Prizes up to $99,999 can be claimed entirely online, and you can start the claiming process for prizes over $100,000, though you will have to come in to our headquarters in Raleigh to claim prizes over $100k. When you win, you'll get an email notifying you of your win and it will include any instructions needed to claim your prize!
