Powerball plus Mega Millions grow to $1.54 billion in jackpots

As the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots both continue to climb, you get the chance to play this week for major life-changing prizes that together total $1.54 billion.

Monday’s Powerball jackpot, provides the chance to win $900 million as an annuity or $465.1 million in cash.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing features a $640 million jackpot as an annuity or $328 million in cash.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing saw two big wins in the state when a $2 ticket matched four white balls and the red Powerball in the drawing to win $50,000. The tickets were purchased at Sam’s Mart on Cane Creek Drive in Huntersville and at Peace Street Market on West Peace Street in Raleigh.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.

Players can buy Powerball or Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com.

Will you consider a different way to lottery that is substantial monetarily? Why not split the winnings up so that more people can be winners than just one?

NCEL, please, explain, why you don't end the games where all top prizes have been won? For example, Price is Right game is still being sold, even though there are no top prizes left. I don't think it is fair to players. Many are not aware that there are no top prizes left. You have so many different games, and I am sure you make a lot of money without doing this.NC Lottery
Hey there, Tatiana! Our The Price Is Right ticket is actually on pickup, although an official end date for the game has not yet been announced. Typically, once all top prizes for a game are won, we will announce the end of the game, although we do consider other factors such as popularity of a ticket, how many total prizes are remaining, whether there are second chance drawings, etc. However, this ticket being on pickup means that we can expect an end date for this game soon. https://nclottery.com/scratch-off/853/the-price-is-right.
