Charlotte man snags $100,000 scratch-off prize

August 1, 2023 Posted by NC Lottery at 9:42 AM

Miles Bynum Sr. of Charlotte took a chance on a $30 scratch-off and won a $100,000 prize.

Bynum bought his lucky $5,000,000 Ultimate ticket from Queens Market on West Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Monday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,259.

The $5,000,000 Ultimate game debuted in March with five $5 million prizes and 15 $100,000 prizes. Four $5 million prizes and nine $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Congratulations to all the winners. I pray a can win I don't need a big lump sum just enough to pay the rest of the money for my son to go to college. I feel like I'm letting him down by not having the money. 10, 000 is a lot to come up with and paying 1000 a month will be hard on me. I'm just going to put it God's hands hopefully it will work out by Tuesday so he can attend. Everyone have a nice day.

Hi, I'm wondering what the average number of entries there are for the weekly & monthly luck-e drawings? Trying to get a feel for the odds. Thank you.NC Lottery
Hi Isaac, the odds for any particular entry winning a Lucke-Rewards drawing will vary depending on the number of entries. Every drawing is different, and the number of entries vary widely. However, we are happy to provide the entry count for any specific drawing. Just let us know which one you are interested in!
