Mecklenburg County woman enjoys $150,000 scratch-off win

An Dan Nguyen of Mint Hill tried her luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $150,000 top prize.

Nguyen bought her lucky Holiday Gold ticket from 1-Stop Food Store on North Tryon Street in Charlotte.

She arrived Monday at lottery headquarters to claim her prize and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $107,251.

The Holiday Gold game debuted in November with four $150,000 top prizes. Two $150,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

My only brother died in October of 2023 and 1 stop was his favorite store and the owner loved my brother I'm so glad someone hit a big winning ticket the owners are really nice people enjoy your winnings God is good

Congrats to Charlotte once again! I been playing all the Christmas tickets except the $10, because no store in my area has it yet the webpage says there are still winning tickets outstanding, so where are they at NCEL? I have also been looking for the 20x $5 ticket and no store has it either. I wish it was a betting system to update the ticket count, because clearly the current system is not up to date.NC Lottery
Hi, Angela! The number of remaining winning tickets is updated daily on each game's page. Our holiday tickets have more limited runs than most of our other scratch-off games - we recommend checking around at other retailers near you to see if there are any in stock, though some may not have this anymore as they make room for new tickets with even more prizes to be won! The 2023 Multiply the Cash tickets have also begun to be picked up by our sales representatives, as our 2024 Multiply the Cash suite of tickets will be coming in February. :)
