The N.C. Education Lottery’s regional office and claim center in Asheville will reopen on Monday and will operate under a normal schedule.

The Asheville office had been closed since Sept. 26 as the Western North Carolina region continued to recover from damage from Tropical Storm Helene.

By Monday, all utilities will be restored to the regional office.

Great news NCEL. Now please pass along to the Asheville office local personnel that the billboard needs updated to represent the correct jackpot amounts. And also, the billboard itself has failing LEDs and is bent at the top becoming an eyesore.NC Lottery
Hi, Brian! Our billboards in Asheville were affected by the storm. We are working with our outdoor billboard vendors to reconnect them and update the jackpot numbers as soon as possible. Once that work is completed we'll follow up with you here!

May God bless the entire region, so what heppens to those scratch offs that were destroyed?NC Lottery
Hi, Dion! There’s a chance that a lost or damaged ticket had a prize on it. Since the lottery and retailers do not know where winning tickets are, we can’t know when a prize goes unclaimed why that happened. If retailers report tickets lost or damaged by floodwaters, then the lottery can account for that, but we won’t know if those tickets had prizes. The “Prizes Remaining” count can include prizes that won’t be claimed if tickets were lost, damaged, or thrown away. In a perfect world, all tickets would be sold and all prizes claimed, but since accidents and floods happen, that’s not always possible.

Hi, Shirley! Every combination has the same odds of being randomly drawn in each drawing. We're crossing our fingers for you and hope your favorite number hits soon!

Great, then the Asheville NCEL can update the incorrect jackpot amounts on the Patton Ave. billboard since boosting profits and increasing losses is the main goal.
