Peggy Davis of Charlotte tried her luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $250,000 prize.

Davis bought her lucky 20X The Cash ticket from Mighty Midget Market 2 on Tuckaseegee Road in Charlotte.

She claimed her prize at lottery headquarters Tuesday and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $178,751.

The 20X The Cash game debuted in February with 10 $250,000 top prizes. Seven $250,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

LOL! Oh no not Charlotte another top prize! I would love to see a Pie Chart on top prize winners in areas @NCEL. I think it will be transparent to where these top prize tickets are randomly ending up at.... you all have to data let's see a pie chart!NC Lottery
Hi, Angela! Over time, areas with larger populations may see more winners simply because there are more folks taking a chance to win there. With more tickets being ordered by retailers in those areas, you'll see a larger number of both winning and non-winning tickets in proportion to the odds. The chance of any one ticket being a winner is the same no matter where you play - whether east or west, big city or small town - it just takes a lot of luck! You can find winner stories and highlights on our site and social media pages, but for a more detailed report on winner locations, please submit a request at https://records.lotterync.net and a member of our team will work to provide this answer for you!
