The orchestra at Crest High School held concerts at a local college because the facilities at their own school were just not adequate. For years, people in Cleveland County talked about the need to build a better place for their students to perform and their community to gather.
Lottery-funded grants totaling $27.2 million finally made it possible for the school district to build two new auditoriums at Crest High School and Burns High School. Both facilities can hold a large audience that will be treated to some of the best sounds and sights technology will allow.
The lottery visited Cleveland County earlier this month where an excited crowd of parents, students, educators and elected officials gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house at Crest High School.
