Halifax County man bags $400,000 second-chance win

Calvin Fitts of Littleton tried his luck on a second-chance drawing and won a $400,000 grand prize.

Fitts found out he won the top prize in a 2024 Multiply The Cash Second Chance drawing on June 5 when he got an email notification from the lottery. There were more than 50.5 million entries in the drawing.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Thursday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $286,000.

Players get a second chance with their Multiply the Cash scratch-off tickets by scanning them into their lottery accounts where they are automatically entered into the drawing. In addition to the $400,000 top prize, the drawing had four $20,000 winners and 10 winners of $500. The next drawing will take place on October 9.

Happy for u player ...I tried hard on that contest this drawing and the last one....over 2700 entrys still can't win a dollar.. loosing the will to even play...I see that big scratch wins and second chance are 80 percent in or around the lottery headquartersNC Lottery
