Mecklenburg County woman collects $250,000 scratch-off win

Kimberly Mahon of Matthews tried her luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $250,000 top prize.

Mahon bought her lucky 20X The Cash ticket from Stallings Superette on Potters Road in Stallings.

She claimed her prize at lottery headquarters Wednesday and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $178,751.

The 20X The Cash game debuted in February with 10 top prizes of $250,000. Four $250,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Thanks for posting all the latest winners from my county. It was refreshing to go back and read all about their winnings. But there was one guy from my county, but he bought the ticket in another county. Moore County I think.

I've been playing them so much! But poor Ole Richmond County don't have any big tickets winners here! Think I'd be better off going into a neighboring County, instead of this poor County, where no big winners come from.NC Lottery
