Mecklenburg County man wins first $1 million top prize in new game

Jose Miguel Aza Andrade of Pineville took a chance on a $10 scratch-off and won the first $1 million top prize in a new lottery game.

Andrade bought his lucky Cashword King ticket from B & M Food Service on Lancaster Highway in Pineville.

When Andrade arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday, he had a decision to make. He could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000. He chose the lump sum of $600,000 and, after required tax withholdings, took home $394,500.

The Cashword King game debuted in August with four top prizes of $1 million. Three $1 million prizes remain to be claimed.

Congrats man..only game I used to play, after seeing the winning pattern I stopped..Charlotte Raleigh Wilmington have 74 percent of winning top prize scratchoff wins...I got 9 of these one day in a row feeling good, lost on every one of em..heartbroken the next day I got 7 more..lost it all...that's when I stopped and started researching...broke me from playing anymore

Smart man to take the lump sum at this point of global corruption. The powers that be can take lotteries away, change laws, etc. But if they ever took hard cash in the banks away, history would unfold a lot different. And those who manipulate the public for their own interest know this.
